You are confusing ownership with intellectual property. They are different things. You can absolutely own anything you purchase without the rights to distribute copies. You own the media and its contents when you purchase it. You do not obtain the intellectual property rights to copy and redistribute.

How do you decide what qualifies for the community dividend? Does every publisher get an amount from the dividend? Is the dividend a pool of earnings that has to be split evenly? Are there devs that don’t qualify for the dividend? Is it because they make too much money? Or because the thing they created is ai slop uploaded specifically to syphon free money away from the dividend? You either have very wealthy devs taking from the pool or you have people who shouldn’t be allowed to call themselves devs taking money from the pool, either way it’s unfair to the devs who poured their heart and soul into a project nobody heard of.

Hank hasn’t been in charge at scishow for a while. When he is on scishow now, his job is read and present an article written by someone else. The fact checking and editorializing was done before he arrived for shooting the video. He also has publicly said it’s not his place to jump back into that company and grab back power he has given up. Being mad at Hank for the knitting thing is insane if you are familiar with how scishow works.

I like it because it’s in order of smallest maximum integer. I know that’s not why we use it in the US but it’s still satisfying to me to see the first number smaller than the second on all but 78 days of the year.
My mom similarly background checks my partners and friends. It’s pretty annoying. I try to spare as many as I can by feeding identifying details as slowly as I can.
I recently moved out of my apartment into a new place and when I reached out to friends to help me move some larger pieces of furniture, I suddenly found myself in the middle of a scheduling conundrum where people were telling me what time and day they were individually free. I was trying to coordinate with them to see when was best for them. Then it hit me, I was asking for a favor not planning a party. It then became very easy for me to just consider most of them busy. I moved 90% of it by myself. I got one friend to help me move 2 pieces of furniture that I could not physically disassemble and that was that. That friend gets a reward for the help and I’m still a little bitter that everyone else was too busy.
Asking for help moving will show you really how far some people will go for you.
I pulled the cloud modem out of my car. It drives just fine without a connection to the internet or cell towers.
Just saying, telling everyone they smell like shit is not an excellent way to make friends. But you do you.
