Hello guys. Is their some way to disable the Android Auto VPN warning? I use a VPN quite often and every time I go in to my car this warning comes up. But I can not disable mute or suspend it. I am aware AA doesn’t work well with a VPN. But having no way to like accept that is annoying. Now I have to disable the VPN which I don’t always want to do. Or unpair and repair AA every time I want to use it.

Its not like you swipe the warning away. It comes back every few seconds as long as the VPN is on.

If their is someway to disable or even remove this useless feature perhaps with ADB. Do let me know.

EDIT: Thank you all who suggested to to exclude AA from the VPN app. never done this with wireguard but this was indeed the solution!

Wild guess: your VPN may have a kill switch or other policy that either routes all traffic through tunnel OR kills it outright if it attempts to communicate in any other way. Which may include WiFi direct since its (unsure) an IP protocol?

Which VPN provider are you using? Maybe look for split VPN in the settings or app exclusion. Then select AA and the warning goes away and AA also works as expected.

There’s an almost invisible button that lets you exclude apps when you edit the profile. With android auto excluded mine works without disconnecting wireguard.

Self hosted Wireguard is what I also use (though with WG Tunnel app rather than the official client for auto connect when I leave my home WiFi) but both support split tunneling when you edit the tunnel properties. Just check the AA app, save, and you’re good to go.

I’m fairly positive that using WG Tunnel from f-droid as a client would allow you to set split tunnel, excluding AA from the VPN.

Is this only an AA wireless issue? I thought AA just won’t start with a VPN running on the system at all. I use wireless and have a couple VPN profiles and it always shows this any time I leave it on, I think it’s AA system functionality to prevent spoofing location or GPS or whatever.

I used Hail to freeze AA and just don’t use it. It’s broken garbage anyway.
