I love how Netflix curbed piracy by actually offering a product people were willing to pay for in the past and now might inadvertently kick start a new era of mass piracy again by being greedy fucking capitalists.

Big ol’ square here. How does this work? Is the FBI going to arrest me for this?

      • worst that could happen is your ISP gets pissed, especially if you only download things rather than seeding them (i.e. sharing them with everyone else). to avoid that only use a torrent client with a VPN, something you should probably just have anyways.

it’s really quite easy. use qbittorrent, it has a feature where it can search many popular torrent sites/trackers instead of having to search each site individually. unless you know any better never open a .exe file downloaded from a torrent.

I only access lemmygrad with my vpn on so it was on.

I just downloaded Spider man homecoming from rarbg. (I know it’s propaganda but I like Zendaya). It worked fine, but it did say “seeding” at the end. I’ll try qbittorrent next time

Seed your torrents til they hit a “ratio” (how much you’ve downloaded to how much you’ve shared to other people) of at least 1, fuck the copyright cops, practice actually existing digital communism

          • if you seed like one thing, or each thing for like just a moment then it’s no big deal. whenever the torrent is finished, just delete it from your list of downloading torrents and you’ll be fine.

enjoy your free movie! unfortunately i have hundreds of gigabytes of free films/TV but no time to watch any of it haha

Thanks comrade. Totally forgot Zendaya is hardly in this one… lol. Doesn’t matter.

              Take care

Greedy! Seed your torrents as long as you can!

              • i mean i appreciate all the seeders out there but i’ve been burned too many times to bother. it’s also incredibly inconvenient to keep files in the same place and with the same horrible naming conventions

Seeding is the best part of torrenting. I love seeing that other people have downloaded my favorite pieces of media (and stuff I had to wait MONTHS to finish downloading) from me. It’s like, what’s mine is yours my friend <3

It depends where you live. A small number of people have been sued. You should check whether anyone has suffered any penalties where you live.

USA makes it easier to sue due to not requiring proof of damages suffered. Most people seem to say a VPN is sufficient protection from being sued.

ah yes the classic ‘‘QUICK! THE SHIP IS SINKING, LET US MAKE MORE HOLES!’’, kinda funny how it always happens.

The world of streaming services is one of the most toxic industries there can be. People paying for content they will never own. By the way, the joke of playing war with Russia was very expensive.

  • Spent most of my day setting up my Plex server. Tried to use Jellyfin, but it didn’t play very nice with my MKV files.

I think I’m going to get back into actually watching stuff again :)
