On the wider ones, the heel of your shoe to the center top of the clear plastic will cause it to bow and open up.
Most optimal would be a hammer but anything from dropping onto ground to using your teeth.
Are they really that expensive?
I imagine it has more to do with money density, e.g. dollars per cubic inch. If you sold gold bars, making them huge limits the amount that someone can sneak out under their trenchcoat.
