The story campaign in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 has numerous restrictions tied to its always-online nature, with no method of pausing levels. You'll also be booted from your game if you're idle for too long.
Point to me one AAA studio that doesn’t have those. If you want to be 100% ethical you should only buy indie games, and I honestly don’t fault anyone for doing so. I just buy whatever game I find good. Unless the company is literally funding nazis, LGBTQ+ phobia (like Hogwarts Legacy), or war crimes (like Escape from Tarkov, and I also did not buy BO7 until Microsoft pulled out of giving money to Israel), if the game is good in the area I care about, I will buy it.
I don’t think there are any single player military shooters anymore… at least not that come to mind. I think COD drove them all out of business… Phase 1 of Enshittification.
I can point to you several other games, many of them shooters, that are singleplayer. Like, you have the three modern DOOM games and ULTRAKILL just as an example. And like, you don’t NEED to have it be new games? You can just buy old singleplayer military FPSes??

There are many single player scenarios for arma. On top of the ones that are in the game.
It’s still a decent game.
