The theory of a supposedly pro-Ukrainian special commando, which is said to have carried out the attack on the gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea by sailing yacht, becomes always dubious.

Now it comes out: It was a 15-meter long boat, the “Andromeda”, of which five men and a woman on 26 February. September 2022 is said to have committed the attack. Rented at Mola Yachting in the resort Breege on Rügen.

The “Andromeda”, equipped with a 75 hp engine, is said to be sailed from Rostock via Rügen to Bornholm, in order to position at least 1500 kilograms of explosives precisely at the gas pipeline – at a depth of 80 metres.

The charter company wrapped itself in silence on Friday, threw BILD reporters out of the office. What is only sure: The boat was searched by German investigators in January.

Unclear: How can a command of captain, four diving experts and a doctor have withdrawn from such a complicated sabotage coup from board such a nutshell?

Problem 1: the explosive devices! For three explosions, at least 1500 kilograms of special military explosives would have been necessary to use under water. The “Andromeda” has no crane to ensure that such quantities are safely absorbed into the water.

Problem 2: Logistics! How should the alleged Ukrainian sabotage crew have carved out of stockpiles and a half tons of explosives from armies by Poland and Germany without getting on the radar of secret services or police?

Problem 3: The diving equipment! Experts, doubt that the “Andromeda” is geared towards this.

How can divers deposit in 80 metres deep explosive device?

How can divers post a 500-kilo blast set unnoticed at a depth of 80 metres? DLRG diving physician Mathias Hölzl on BILD: “It’s very complicated! For a dive alone, you need 30 litres of special gas mixture – dozens of bottles must have been on board.”

Diving instructor Robert Röske (Dive Baltic Sea, Rügen) calls another technique: “A repeat system that filters the breath through breathing limestone.” Problem: the emergence without nitrogen poisoning. “It takes four to eight hours,” says Rösker. “Every ship that has stood in one place for so long falls into its miles.”
